Key Responsibilities
Assist with the assembly and installation of formwork systems, including walls, columns, beams, and slabs, according to project specifications.
Ensure that formwork is properly aligned, braced, and secured to support concrete pouring.
Monitor formwork during concrete placement to prevent leaks, bulges, or other defects.
Assist with the stripping and removal of formwork after concrete has cured, ensuring the safe and efficient dismantling of structures.
Repair and maintain formwork systems as needed, including cleaning, oiling, and replacing damaged components.
Follow safety protocols and regulations at all times to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and other tradespeople to coordinate work activities and ensure project deadlines are met.
Preparation of boards/shutters prior to the masonry work of columns or slabs of the structure with chamfering, handling them carefully upon return to stock, and ensuring their proper storage.
Qualifications
Previous experience in shuttering and formwork construction is required.
Strong understanding of formwork systems, materials, and techniques.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in formwork construction.
Physically fit and able to perform manual labor in a construction environment.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
